Pendleton Cottage - #1 Slumber Village

Negative: This is a small house with uneven wooden floors. It has only two bedrooms and two beds, so it's not suitable for three people who each want their own bed. The owner charged us an extra $50 just to check in one hour early. Unbelievable! That's certainly not what I would call good customer service. We weren't even allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m., but when we arrived at 3:15 p.m., the cleaners were still finishing the room. We stayed for just one night, and I would never come back.

Owner should consider fixing the property and then reopening. Positive: Had all basic amenities. Good beds. Has attached laundry. Negative: Property tries really hard to be a boutique stay but fails at basic cleanliness, maintenance of heating fixtures, drainage. The gate welcomes you with an unhoused person at the gate with their shopping cart and belongings. The couch has stains beyond salvaging and the floors stick to your feet if you dare to walk barefoot. I’d recommend the owners to please take a break, fix systemic issues and then reopen. The overall stay felt like living in a motel that gave up mid-renovation and decided the vibe would have to be enough.

Quaint Alaskan place, convenient and nice. Positive: Having a two bedroom cabin was very important for us as two couples traveling together. Pendleton Cottages was convenient and a pleasant place to stay. Negative: A bit too much perfume in the cleaning.
